Life is a Journey

Shayan, a mother of three living in Etobicoke, took this photo of her newborn son just before he went into surgery at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. “Here he is holding onto his dad’s hand. This is only his second day in the world. He is so strong, and this is just the beginning.” Shayan enjoyed photography when she was younger but lost her equipment when she experienced homelessness. “Life is a journey, and the strength found in new life is a beautiful thing.”
