Ranko, who immigrated to Canada 20 years ago from Montenegro, and has experienced homelessness, took his photograph at Sugar Beach in Toronto. He was attracted to the beauty of the sun splashing into view, as it seemed to approach the leaves in the foreground. Ranko often finds inspiration in nature, particularly in the sun and leaves around us. “I am not sure what beauty means to me, but I hope others will see the power and beauty of nature too.”
